We are each created for a purpose, and that purpose is to become like Jesus. This book is about aiming the whole of life at that target — seeing where we are on target and where we are not, and learning to make course corrections along the way.
Section One lays out God’s purpose for our lives: Christlikeness. Section Two is a “full quiver” of fifteen arrows (each one to help point us to Jesus) — faith, the Word of God, prayer, the Holy Spirit, love, unity, eyes on Jesus, discipleship, guarding your heart, the name of Jesus, giving and forgiving, an unoffendable heart, praying eyes, washing feet, and being all in for Jesus. Each chapter and arrow ends with questions for reflection. Written as a supplement to, never a substitute for, daily reading of Scripture.
This book quotes or cites Scripture about 151 times, from 22 books of the Bible. Each reference opens in the ESV at Blue Letter Bible.
