““Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6, ESV) Never before in life have, we been surrounded by a greater ‘buffet’ of choices of things to hunger and thirst for in life. The sheer volume and high ‘velocity’ of the tempting options that lay before a person today is overwhelming to say the least. BUT – the things that are good and right are not new, they have never changed nor shall they ever: The righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ – is pure and perfect and more beautiful, peaceful, and satisfying than anything this world can offer. All things were made through Jesus Christ (John 1) how can the things he made (or the aberrations thereof) be anything like the ‘Real Thing’ – Jesus Christ. He is in himself the end of all of our hungering and thirsting – the only thing needed is to point our ‘wanters’ toward him and find in Christ the end of wanting and the filling that our lives truly desire. Jesus is the answer – for the world today – above him there’s no other – Jesus is the Way!
