As this day has rested and it is now the night, I am glad, and I rejoice to know that the same God who carried me through the day is also my help and my protection in the darkness of the night and even the night is not dark when my hope is in you because you are pure and perfect light and light overcomes darkness always. Lord, be thou my vision as I rest in you tonight, be my strength and my hope this night and always. I know that I can do all things through you and more than anything else Lord what I want is what you want – for me to trust you with all of my heart and lean not on my own understanding but in all of my ways – in my sleeping and my waking in my coming and my going, in my thinking and speaking and doing to acknowledge you and submit to your will and know that you are God and there is no other and I need no other. I rest and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who was and is and is to be – now and forever. Amen.
