God Above World – Always

My son, fear the Lord and the king, and do not join with those who do otherwise,” (Proverbs 24:21, ESV)

To fear God is to trust God, to know God is who he says he is, to know that God is greater than anything we can conceive of and he is forever – whereas the things of this world are very temporary – like a morning mist that rolls in and then when you turn around it is gone.

The Lord is forever. Do not throw in with those who are trying to get from this world what only God has to offer. We must witness to people about the good news of Jesus but we don’t do that as we follow them into worldly sin.

Bad company corrupts good behavior. AND those who you ‘throw in with’ immediately lose all respect for how you caved in – they plead with you to go but they will only respect you if you stand strong in your position.

To fear the Lord is to know that he is God; to know that he is holy; to know that he is to be revered and held in the highest possible regard and to fear the terror of being separated from God now and forever.
