“And when he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.” (Luke 19:28, ESV)
We will soon come to the end of one year and the beginning of another. Of course, God is outside time because he created time (space, matter, energy, all things). For most of us the ending of one year and the beginning of another is a time for us to reflect back over the past year and look forward into the coming year.
Looking back over 2021 – for all who are born again in Christ Jesus – he went before us through all of the challenges of this past year.
Looking forward to 2022, Lord willing – Jesus goes before us – he is there already. Jesus is going before you this year in everything in life: in blessings, in challenges, in times of joy, in times of sorrow.
Rejoice that for you who are in Christ Jesus he is also in you and he goes before us in all things, at all times, for all time. Nothing can separate us from God’s love in Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:38-39)
