Living On A Christ-Like Trajectory

“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.” (Romans 12:16) The way of the world is to live a ‘high-flying’ self-confident and self-centered life. One thing is for sure, if you are living the high-flying life you don’t have to worry about mid-air collisions with Jesus. For a Christian, Jesus is our ‘air traffic controller’ and he always directs us to a lower trajectory – one where what we notice is not self but Jesus – that Jesus who said I did not come to be served but to serve others.  The way of the Christian life – the life of following the steps of Jesus is one where we live in harmony with others, knowing that is our responsibility, not theirs. A life where there is no ‘lowly’ except that we are all at the same level – the level ground at the foot of the cross of Christ. A life where we recognize that all wisdom is from above and it is rooted in the fear of the Lord. Amen.
