New Testament Commands

Commands, invitations, and Christian character · Volume 1
Brief biblical statements, each followed by the New Testament passages that teach it

How This Index Is Written

Each teaching appears as a brief biblical statement rather than as a long quotation. The wording stays as close as reasonably possible to the ESV while identifying the speaker when that clarity matters.

Repeated teachings are consolidated. The statement appears once, followed by the New Testament passages that teach it.

Commands are organized by practical themes and are also listed alphabetically at the end for quick searching.

This volume includes commands directed to believers generally and commands governing the gathered church. Instructions limited to one historical person or to one specific role are not treated as universal commands.

Always read every listed passage in its full context. A short index line cannot carry every qualification contained in the surrounding verses.
