May we truly get the message God has given us, blessed us with through David. I read of a young boy who, upon being asked to recite the 23rd Psalm began by saying, “The Lord is my shepherd what more could I want.” He may have missed the text slightly but he nailed the meaning and the promise and the truth of who God is and what he does for us as we look to him.
The thing about a shepherd is – will the sheep follow him. We can all say “The Lord Jesus is my shepherd” but are we following him as sheep follow the shepherd whose voice they well know. Do you know the voice of the true Shepherd? Are you following him? Are you aiming your life for Jesus daily?
We need to each have an open and frank discussion with ourselves and the Lord as we are led by the Holy Spirit and make those course corrections that put us on target with Jesus.
