“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,” (Colossians 1:9, ESV) Is there someone who is such a great influence on you by their faith in Christ that you just want to pray for them all the time?Is there someone watching you and finds you to be such a great influence because of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that they want to pray for you all the time?
This is the picture of how the Body of Christ grows. We, of course, look first and always to Jesus himself. But we also are to see the light of Christ in others and be open and ready to learn from them as we see them following Jesus; and, we are to follow Jesus so closely that the light of Christ in us shines into the lives of others that they are drawn to follow us as we follow Jesus.Tomorrow, Lord willing, we will discuss the challenges and duties in leading and following.
