“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6–7, ESV) And the means for walking in Jesus is also what we call ‘walking in the light’:“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7, ESV) This light is found when we live our lives ‘lit up’ with the truth of who God is and what God has said. We don’t walk ‘according’ to the light because we would have to do so perfectly and none of us can or will do that. But we walk ‘in the light’ – our lives are open and responsive to the light of the Word of God – the truth that is Jesus. This is our communion with God – that we walk (live) in the light of his Word and so we enjoy precious fellowship with God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Commune with God in the light of Christ today. Amen.
