“While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.” (Acts 10:44, ESV) The people heard not because Peter was talking but because Peter spoke ‘the word.’ The word is THE WORD and THE WORD is the Word of God, not the word of man. When we are seeking to witness to others, it is not our clever arguments that produces true fruit – it is only THE WORD spoken through our faith in Christ as the Holy Spirit expertly leads us. It is not a cleverly prepared speech but the Word of God spoken to the people will bring dead people to life – when they do not listen to man but hear the Word of God.
