This is an unavoidable daily reality for every one of us – we will either please God or please the world – here is how God says it: “You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” (James 4:4, ESV) There is no middle ground – we either embrace the truth of God, fixing our eyes on Jesus and setting him as our daily goal; or, if we don’t do that we are playing for the other team. We must make up our minds every day to live for the Lord. Committed to loving and serving God or failing to be who God created us to be and thus being a friend of the world. Lord, help me / us to love and serve you today and every day you give us from now until you call us home. Amen.
