“Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,” (Philippians 1:27, ESV) The Gospel of Christ is the greatest good news of all time. Jesus who has always been God, came to earth in the form of a baby. He lived a sinless life. He died on a cross to pay for all sin for all time. Then he was buried. On the third day he was raised from the dead by God the Father. Jesus appeared to many people. Then he ascended to heaven. Jesus is coming back for his “bride” – the Church – all born again believers of Jesus Christ. Don’t feel any pressure, but we are told here (Philippians 1:27) to live our lives in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ! How could we possibly do that? We can’t! Christ in us can. (Galatians 2:20) What is your goal today? If it is anything lower than worthy of the Gospel we need to recalibrate and aim for Jesus – Christlikeness – God’s goal for each of us Amen.
